HELENA — On July 31, Governor Steve Bullock appointed Jasmine Courville-Brown of Ronan to the Flathead Basin Commission. Courville-Brown is a pesticide specialist for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. The Flathead Basin Commission’s purpose is to protect the existing high quality of the Flathead Lake aquatic environment and the waters that flow into, out of, or are tributary to the lake, as well as the natural resources and environment of the Flathead Basin.
Blood donations urgently needed
LAKE COUNTY — The American Red Cross is facing a looming shortage of the most needed blood types, resulting in an urgent need for eligible donors with O negative, B negative and A negative blood to give now to prevent an emergency situation. Platelet donors and type AB blood donors are also being asked to help ensure the shelves are stocked for patients.
Overall blood donations in the Red Cross Lewis and Clark Blood Services Region have been approximately 1,978 fewer per month in June and July this year than the previous 10 months of the year.
Blood donation appointments can be quickly and easily scheduled by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
