Editor,
On Wednesday, Sept. 9, Mayor Heather Knutson signed a proclamation declaring the period through Oct. 17, as “Polson Police Department Appreciation of Service Season.” During this season, members of the community will express their support of those who protect and serve, while also raising funds for a member of the department who is suffering from a life-threatening illness.
The members of the Polson Chamber of Commerce are supporting this effort by encouraging our members to purchase blue ribbons to be worn by all their employees and friends. We will proudly sell and wear these blue ribbons in support of the members of the Polson Police Department as well as the members of the Lake County Sheriff Department, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Police Department and the members of the Montana Highway Patrol who serve in our community.
We acknowledge the risks and rewards of public service. Those men and women who accept the challenges that come with the badge should know that we appreciate their efforts, not just during this Service Season, but every day of every year.
That’s why we are asking you to help show your support by purchasing and wearing the blue ribbon.
Louis Cross
President
Polson Chamber of Commerce
