NORTHWEST MONTANA — The National Montana Association of Realtors Charitable Foundation recently donated $4,800 to food pantries across northwest Montana. The Foundation donated to the Polson Loaves & Fish Pantry, the Ronan Breadbasket, the Mission Valley Food Pantry in St. Ignatius, the Flathead Food Bank (serving Kalispell, Marion, Evergreen, Martin City), and the food pantries in Bigfork, Whitefish, Lakeside and Eureka.

“The motto of the NMAR Charitable Foundation is ‘Realtors Care.’  The NMAR Charitable Foundation’s donations are just one way Realtors show it,” Tia Robbin, Executive Officer of the Association

Realtors said.

Support of food banks continues in October with the inaugural “Houses for Hunger” event at the Kalispell Center Mall Oct. 8-16, where six teams build structures out of canned food. The teams are sponsored by Glacier Bank, Parkside Credit Union, Jackola Engineering/Insured Titles/Mann Mortgage, Ron Terry Construction, JE Engineering and First Montana Bank.

“We are so very thankful for these generous sponsors who are purchasing the canned food and organizing their teams to build their House for Hunger. We hope the community enjoys seeing their creations,” Robbin said.

The public is invited to vote for their favorite “house for hunger” by donating $1 per vote. All proceeds raised and all canned food used are donated to area food banks after the event.
