ST. IGNATIUS — The St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center will be the site of several helpful and informational activities over the next month or so. The foot care volunteer will be in the center on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Stop by or call for an appointment. The Lake County Health Department will provide flu shots on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 4-5 p.m. Seniors are asked to bring their Medicare cards. Samantha Walker from the Area VI Agency on Aging will be in the center to talk to seniors about changes in their drug plans on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The Thursday Quilters have made scarecrow heads as a fundraiser for the center. They are hanging on a wall in the center. People can vote for their favorite scarecrow by putting money in envelopes below them. The voting will end and the winner will be announced on Oct. 30. The center is thankful for this project as well as the group’s recent donations.
The Fall Rummage and Bake Sale was successful and the center is grateful to all those who donated and/or bought items at the sale. We are also appreciative of the several people who donated garden produce to the center this summer and fall.
The activities at the center for the rest of October are:
Bingo is played after almost every lunch.
Lunches begin at noon.
Dinners begin at 5:30 p.m.
Quilters quilt in the center on Mondays and Thursdays.
Lunches may be delivered to qualified seniors.

— Tuesday, Oct. 20: foot clinic and cowboy casserole lunch
— Wednesday, Oct. 21: flu shots; barbecue ribs dinner, 5:30
— Friday, Oct. 23: soup and sandwiches lunch
— Tuesday, Oct. 27: meatloaf lunch
— Friday, Oct. 30: goulash lunch
