Editor,
“More revenue” is what we were told last year as we watched our water and sewer bills climb up, up and up. “More revenue” we heard this summer as a committee was formed to determine the potential of creating a resort tax.
If more revenue is what we need, why are we entertaining a proposal from a Missoula contractor to build a taxpayer funded low-income housing project in Polson? Preliminary discussions have indicated that the City of Polson may waive partially or wholly impact fees and property taxes on this project. It was also indicated that the source of financing was yet to be selected.
How can this project move forward without our local builders demanding and deserving equal treatment?
