Editor,
Tim Meeks and I would like to express our appreciation to the folks and businesses in our local communities who came together to make the benefit pancake breakfast for Thelma Mae Briney a success. More than $10,000 was raised to help Thelma’s family remain with her during her cancer treatments in Seattle. We appreciate every person who showed up that morning and the individuals and the many businesses from Polson and Ronan who donated items for the silent auction.
We extend a special thanks to the Lutheran Church Thrivent fund for assistance with seed money for the breakfast. Also, we want to acknowledge Dan DeWitt, manager of Walmart for donating all paper goods and an iPad that Molly Fisher, Polson High School student, raffled off, raising an additional $1,500 for the family. Thank you, Dan and Molly.
Polson School District Food Services Director Jim Steiner and his crew deserve a special thank you for preparing and serving the food for the breakfast. Lori Dickson and the Polson High School Key Club were a great help at the breakfast. Thanks also to Bob and Marty Mazurek, Debbie Gunlock, Leslee Dickson and Paul Briney and his family for all your help. It was truly a blessing to be part of such an event. We ask for continued prayers for little Thelma Mae and her family. There is an account set up at First Interstate Bank for additional donations. Thank you, Polson and Ronan.
