Justice of the Peace Randal L. Owens dealt with the following cases Dec. 11-17:

The following individuals were found guilty of seatbelt violation and fined $20: Twila May Schmidt, 45; Kenneth Ross Swope, 26.

Mark H. Vrooman, 59, forfeited a $70 bond and $35 in court costs for speeding, exceeding restricted/special zone speed limit.

George Bennett Evans, 47, pleaded not guilty to seatbelt violation. He was found guilty and fined $20. Evans also pleaded not guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. He was found guilty and fined $500 and $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 days suspended. Evans also pleaded not guilty to aggravated driving under the influence. He was found guilty and fined $1000 and $85 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 days suspended. Evans also pleaded not guilty to habitual offender operating motor vehicle. He was found guilty and fined $500, $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 days suspended. Evans also pleaded not guilty to failing to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle-owner or operator-third or subsequent offense. He was found guilty and fined $500, $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 days suspended.

Wayne David Appl, 56, pleaded guilty to careless driving and fined $50 and $35 in court costs. Appl also pleaded guilty to seatbelt violation and was fined $20.

Aaron James Jolstead, 28, pleaded guilty to theft, obtain or exerts unauthorized control over property, first offense. He was fined $50 and $85 in court costs.

Lori Ann Kelly-Mitchell, 55, forfeited a $ 50 fine and $35 in court costs for careless driving.
