Lake County District Court news for Dec. 30, 2015

Judge James A. Manley dealt with the following cases Wednesday, Dec. 23:

Peter Joseph Lumpry, 28, Ravalli pleaded not guilty to criminal child endangerment, a felony. An omnibus hearing is set for March 30, 2016 and a jury trial is set to start May 2.

According to court documents, on July 13 Lumpry was allegedly driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .114 with a small child in the back seat of his truck.

Angela Rose Gopher, 19, Missoula, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs. An omnibus hearing is set for Feb. 3, 2016 and a jury trial is set to start March 14.

According to court documents, on Jan. 2 Gopher was arrested in a Polson motel room for being a minor in possession of alcohol. At tribal jail a detention officer located a baggie in Gopher’s shoe that had hydrocodone residue.

Daphne G. Mitchell, 40, Polson, changed her plea to guilty of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. Sentencing is set for Feb. 3, 2016.

According to court documents, on Aug. 17 Mitchell was a passenger in a car that was stopped for speeding. She was arrested on a parole warrant, and a bag with a methamphetamine pipe and meth residue were found where she had been sitting.

Brandon Joseph Jeppesen, 31, Polson, through his attorney requested to be release on his own recognizance pending his trial date, but the request was denied by the court. 

 

Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, Dec. 10:

Larry Dean Oldhorn, III, 33, Charlo, pleaded not guilty to forgery, a felony. An omnibus hearing is set for March 3, a status conference for April 14, and a jury trial for May 23. 

According to court documents, Oldhorn allegedly wrote more than 10 forged checks, written from stolen checkbooks, to various businesses throughout Lake County.

Annie Carpenter-Hammer, 44, St. Ignatius, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. On Dec. 14 an order of substitution moved the case to Judge Manley’s court. Further court dates have yet to be set.

According to court documents, On Dec. 31, 2014 Carpenter-Hammer was arrested on an outstanding warrant. A used syringe and a container with meth residue was found in her purse.

Leland Curtis Tanner, 32, Arlee, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. On Dec. 14 an order of substitution moved the case to Judge Manley’s court. Further court dates have yet to be set.

Marko Lee Trombley, 27, Polson, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs. An omnibus hearing is set for Feb. 18, 2016, a status conference for March 17, 2016, and a jury trial April 25, 2016.

According to court documents, on Nov. 2 a Montana Highway Patrol trooper pulled over a vehicle that was in disrepair with body damage and broken windshield. Trombley was a passenger and appeared to try hiding something while the trooper approached the car. Meth was found in a diaper bag.  A duffel bag contained a sawed-off rifle, a meth pipe, a digital scale with meth reside, and a drug ledger. Trombley had injection marks on his arms, according to the affidavit.

Carl Eugene Matt, 44, Polson pleaded not guilty to deceptive practices, a felony and theft of identity, a felony. He was released on his own recognizance to go to Idaho where he faces additional charges. An omnibus hearing is set for Jan. 28, 2016, a status conference for March 17, 2016, and a jury trial April 11, 2016. Matt was released on his own recognizance.

According to court documents, A man reported unauthorized charges on an old card that was lost and replaced but had not been cancelled. Matt allegedly had used the card to purchase fuel for himself and others. The card showed more than $3,000 in unauthorized fuel purchases.

Henry Allen Symington, 45, Ronan, in a change of plea pleaded guilty to CPDD. Sentencing is set for Jan. 14, 2016.

According to court records, on July 17 an officer stopped a vehicle for exceeding the posted speed limit. Symington was a passenger in the vehicle. The officer obtained consent to search the vehicle and found a broken methamphetamine pipe with residue on the floor of the passenger seat where Symington had been sitting. The officer also found a backpack containing 8.5 grams of methamphetamine. Court records indicate Symington told the officer the pipe was his, and he broke the pipe when the vehicle was being stopped.
