Editor,
Do you share any of these concerns? Health care? Social issues? Big money controls? Our nation’s infrastructure? Our politics? America’s future? Budget deficits? The economy? Education? Our kids’ future?
I have a suggestion, something I just started learning about through a most fascinating and provocative hour-long interview on the TV program “Democracy Now,” conducted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. They were interviewing Jane Mayer, author of the bestselling book “Dark Money, The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right.”
It would seem important that we all be interested in knowing how an underground-monied group movement is manipulating American politics and attempting to destroy our democratic system. This goes way beyond our present two-party politics. This is like a very dangerous and subversive third party emerging. It seems the power of the purse is preying upon American minds to change our way of thinking. It appears we are being brainwashed, in a sense.
It is scary.
It is reported that well over 100 of our present elected legislators have already been “bought and bound-by-pledge” to this cartel of cash. I repeat: This is scary.
I intend to learn more about this and hope we all will. The only way, in my view, that such exposure and ultimate elimination can happen is by the masses demanding full exposure and remedial action.
Let’s get informed, speak about this, write about this and stay tuned-in together as we learn more about this movement. Remember: “Dark Money,” by Jane Mayer.
