Ty Allen McKay
ENNIS — Ty Allen McKay was born on July 10, 1987, in Missoula and left this world to go on his forever hunt Feb. 11, 2016, in Ennis due to a ranching accident.
He attended schools in Polson, graduating in 2006, where he was involved in baseball, wrestling, football, and boy scouts. Following his love of the outdoors, he made his living in the construction and ranching business. Ty was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, 4-wheel driving and going to the shooting range. When not hunting wild game with his rifle or bow, he was scouting for the next hunt, gathering any antler sheds he could spot along the way. His home was filled with mounted “trophies” and sheds. Ty loved visiting and entertained everyone with his fantastic hunting stories. He truly was the extreme hunter. This past season he brought home a mountain goat, a black bear, an elk, a deer and an antelope.
Ty leaves behind his mother Cindy (McAllister) St. Clair of Polson; father Bud (Crystal) McKay of Bigfork; brother Layne McKay of Missoula; grandmother Fay (Sonny) Addington of Polson; step-father Rob St. Clair of Polson; step-sister Stephanie (Curtis) Ward and children Xavier and Caitlyn of Polson; step-sister Alesha St. Clair (Josh) and children Keanen, Logan and Braelyn of Frenchtown; step-grandparents Bob and Betty St. Clair of East Helena; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.
A celebration of Ty’s life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Ronan Community Center at 3 p.m. followed by a luncheon. Please bring memories to share.
