RONAN — An extension of the Ronan Farmers Market will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 2 to 6 p.m. until Halloween.
Its new location is almost to Pablo on the east side of the road at 60600 U.S. Highway 93.
Norman McGeaughay is keeping the market going.
“He’ll have a full array of fall vegetables,” Francis McGeaughay said, except corn. The McGeaughay’s angus bull got into the high tower greenhouse where they grow their produce and ate all the corn, but he didn’t tromp on anything else.
With squash, pumpkins, cabbage, bulk onions and pepper, case lots of tomatoes, more fruit and melons and a good variety of apples, mostly local, organizers hope to keep the farmers market open all winter. Neighbors on the place should have lettuce and strawberries in two to three weeks, too. Plus the market will also sell homemade pies and tarts, fudge, cinnamon rolls and crocheted gift items.
