RONAN — Mission Valley Children’s Choir will present its final concert of its first year. The children’s choir will be joined by the Ronan Adult Education Choir at the concert, which will be presented on Monday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Ronan Performing Arts Center. Both choirs are directed by Cathy Gillhouse. The adult choir is accompanied by Wendy Sanders and the children’s choir is also directed by Seth Nelson and accompanied by Robyn Carlson.
Each choir will perform several selections separately and will join the other choir for several more combined pieces. The concert will begin with the combined choir singing “The Star Spangled Banner” and a round. The concert will conclude with an original piece by Pastor Seth Nelson (the assistant director of the children’s choir) and a special arrangement of “When the Saints Go Marching In.” Other styles of choral music will include spirituals, patriotic, gospel, jazz, Jamaican and a John Denver hit, “Grandma’s Feather Bed.”
The concert is free of charge.
