Revealing a love for his owner, Army Sergeant Matthew Kirton’s faithful dog Max sits at his side before Kirton’s funeral on Jan. 5 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Kirton, the son of Jeannie and Bill Butler of Polson, passed away on New Years Eve at the age of 25. Kirton was stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and was a crew chief in an elite unit that boasted 13 medals. A Zumba fitness fundraiser will be held to help the Butler family travel to an annual event May 31 in Kentucky honoring fallen soldiers, including their son. The Zumbathon will be held at New Life Christian Center Saturday, May 7, from 1-3 p.m. A fundraising site has also been set up at www.gofundme.com/emkqt23k
