POLSON — North Lake County Public Library invites the public to the unveiling of four new Little Free Libraries. The event will take place at the library at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 11. Library Director Marilyn Trosper will host the project in honor of National Library Week. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served.
North Lake County Public Library placed four Little Free Libraries in outlying areas near Polson in 2015. Monday’s event will unveil four more, which will soon provide even more library outreach.
Little Free Libraries are weatherproof, handcrafted structures that have been creatively decorated by local artists. They contain constantly changing collections of 20 to 25 books ,which are contributed and shared by passersby of all ages and backgrounds. Based on the “take a book, leave a book” concept, these small outdoor structures have enjoyed great popularity worldwide. There are currently more than 36,000 registered Little Free Libraries in all 50 states and 70 countries.
