POLSON – Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Monica J. Lindeen will screen a made-in-Montana documentary about investment fraud on Thursday, April 14,from 5-7 p.m. at the KwaTaqNuk. This is part of her ongoing effort to protect Montanans from unscrupulous operators trying to scam people of their money.
Narrated by award-winning actor Bill Pullman, the documentary “Gold Diggers: Investment Fraud in the Treasure State” tells the story of two of Montana’s most infamous investment scams in recent history. The event, which includes a complimentary meal for attendees, is funded by a grant from the nonprofit Investor Protection Trust and includes a question and answer session.
“Education is the key when it comes to fighting fraud,” said Lindeen. “The more you know about your rights, how to spot the red flags of fraud, and where to turn for help and information, the less likely you are to be taken by a modern-day gold digger.” There is no admission fee but seating is limited. For reservations, call 1-800-332-6148 or visit csimt.gov/fraudtour.
