Polson’s Clairmont finds success at State
BOZEMAN – Winning the 110-meter hurdles with ease, Jacob Clairmont become a State Champion at the State A track and field meet. Clairmont finished first in the 110-meter hurdles, second in the 300-meter hurdles and second in the pole vault. He contributed 26 points to the Pirates overall total of 36. Along with Clairmont, Danny DiGiallonardo finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles and the Polson 4x100-meter relay took second. The Polson Pirates took fifth as a team.
Lady Pirate’s Erin Sampson, Bea Frissel, Lydia Bowman and Molly Sitter were top finishers for the girl’s track and field team. Sampson had a whopping throw of 119 feet in the javelin, which put her on the third place podium.

McCready, Camel put up points
BOZEMAN – Ashley McCready and Lee Camel were the stand-out athletes for the Ronan girls track and field team. McCready placed fourth place in the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs. Camel had a jump of 34 feet 6 inches in the triple jump which gave her a second place finish. The Ronan girls finished 15th overall at the State B track and field meet.

Hergett earns gold
MISSOULA – The Charlo Vikings ended their track and field season with an impressive third place finish at the State C meet. Michael Delaney found success in the sprints with a third place finish in the 100-meter dash and fourth place finish in the 200-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Delaney also helped his 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams finish in second place. Other placers for the Vikings were Dugan Runkel and Bridger Smith. Charlo’s Brooklyn Foust was the lone athlete to score points for the girls team. Foust scored three points with her sixth place finish in the 3,200-meter run.
The Arlee Scarlets finished with an overall fifth place ribbon. Carly Hergett dominated the 110-meter hurdles which resulted in her becoming a State Champion in the 110-meter hurdles. Hergett also placed in the long jump and triple jump. Teammate Ashley Revis found herself within inches of a first place finish in the 100-meter dash. Revis took second place and also put points on the board in the 200-meter.
