Editor,

In response to Rep. Greg Hertz’s recent letter to the editor, I disagree with his criticism of me not identifying myself as being Chairman of the Lake County Democrats when I commented on his failure of leadership in not supporting the recent Montana GOP Infrastructure Bill.

Although I am proud to be associated with the Lake County Democrats, and the socially responsible positions they support, this does not define me. First and foremost, I am a concerned Montana citizen who strives to make Montana the best it can be for everyone, not just the wealthy and well connected. As most people, I have many interests and interact with a variety of organizations in the community. If the organizations that we support and programs we adhere to label us when we go on record, maybe Rep. Hertz should consider stating that he is a proponent of the Tea Party agenda. His voting record certainly reflects this as is noted by the rating he has received from the Lewistown Tea Party.

Thanks to Representative Hertz, I stand corrected that Representative Art Wittich is not the Senate Majority Leader, instead it is Senator Keith Regier, who surprising is another GOP “leader” who also voted against the GOP introduced Infrastructure Bill 416. For the good of all Montana citizens, we need more “Responsible Republican” Legislators who are willing to vote for the interests of middle-class working Montanans and not corporate or out-of-state interest groups.
