Character counts

Editor,
The recent letter from Shep was dog-gone delicious. And I found myself agreeing for the umpteenth time with his master, Bob McClellan.
Granted, Pants should probably attend obedience school to correct a few bad habits. She has made mistakes. She is far from perfect.
But as for Hair? I agree with Eric Levitz (The Week, June 3) who said that Hair remains “an incoherent, transparently misogynistic pathological liar who has irrevocably alienated critical swaths of the electorate.” And I would add that he does this in an appallingly crass and reprehensible manner. Hair stokes fear. Fear stokes hatred. Is this the kind of leader we want for our diverse and wonderful nation? Shep would most likely growl at Hair and bite him on the leg. Dogs are very perceptive.
So yes, character counts. Character matters. Kudos to Bob for his civil and thought-provoking letters, and dog bones to Shep for his intelligence and understanding.
And oh, by the way, “I’m with her.”
