Editor,
The new development in Ronan is taking place directly behind my house. It is a positive for Ronan and the Mission Valley. But in the future, if people hiring a contractor do not want to irritate and anger their neighbors, they should not hire Nelson Homes to build. I have talked to Dan in the housing department in Ronan and I have also talked to the owners of the properties being built about this problem. They both promised to talk to the contactor. This morning I had to go outside and yell at two workers that they were being rude and inconsiderate at 6:30 a.m. They were hammering and last week it was sawing included.
I know that they are only trying to make up for time lost during the rains, (but, really people this is Montana in May and June) and possibly trying to beat the heat, exactly why it was so disturbing to me. My windows were open due to the heat and no air conditioning in my house.
So, do not use Nelson Homes if you want to maintain decent relations with your neighbors. These contractors will not care in the least. What is irritating is that there were only two men at this house and it is not like they are going to get a lot done in 45 minutes or so. Really 7 a.m. is early enough.
By the way, Ronan has no ordinance concerning noise in the morning, only at night. Perhaps with this huge development happening, it is time to change that.
