Judge James A. Manley sentenced the following people Wednesday, June 22:
Jason Leroy Bridges, 36, Missoula, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for five years, all suspended, for criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, a felony.
According to court documents, on July 16, 2014, a confidential informant purchased 15 Oxycodone pills from Bridges with documented bills provided by the Mission Mountain Drug Task Force. The Task Force monitored and recorded the transaction. Bridges pleaded guilty on March 23, 2016.
Summer Jean Odom, 25, Kalispell, had her sentence for felony forgery deferred for two years and she was credited for 14 days served. A count of theft was dismissed. She was ordered to pay fines, court fees, and $91.40 in restitution.
According to court documents, Odom was part of a group that wrote checks on another person’s closed account to the Driftwood Restaurant on Nov. 17. They also tried to buy $2,429.34 of merchandise at Walmart, but the check, signed by Odom, was run through a check machine that indicated it was written on a stolen account. Odom pleaded guilty to felony forgery on April 13.
William Robert Gopher, 21, St. Ignatius, had his sentence for criminal possession of dangerous drugs deferred for three years. Gopher was credited for one day served. Gopher’s deferment is conditional on completion of the Boot Camp Program.
According to court documents, on Feb. 14, 2013, Gopher was pulled over on Highway 93 for a traffic stop, and the Montana Highway Patrol trooper noted a white residue in Gopher’s nose. Gopher consented to a search of the vehicle. The trooper found 46.5 hydrocodone pills in a prescription bottle labeled with another’s name. Gopher told the trooper he had recently snorted one-quarter of a hydrocodone pill. Gopher pleaded guilty on July 3, 2013.
Casey Cash Spang, 24, Pablo, had his deferred sentence revoked for criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. He was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for three years with none suspended. The court recommended Spang be screened for a chemical dependency program followed by six months of pre-release.
According to court documents, on May 14, 2015, methamphetamine was found in Spang’s possession during a traffic stop. Spang pleaded guilty Sept. 2, 2015, and on Feb. 11 he was given a deferred sentence. But he violated conditions of probation and parole by having a blood alcohol concentration of .227 on May 8, among other violations.
No one was sentenced in District Court on Wednesday, June 29.
Judge Deborah Kim Christopher sentenced the following people June 23:
Naoise David McMahon, 23, Kalispell, had his sentence for felony theft deferred for three years. He was sentenced to Lake County Jail for 91 days and credited for 91 days. A felony burglary count was dismissed per the plea agreement. McMahon is liable for $6,936 in restitution.
According to court documents, on Dec. 4, 2015, McMahon stole items from his grandparent’s home in Ferndale. McMahon pleaded guilty on April 21.
Dalton Lee Collier, 26, Polson, pleaded guilty to partner or family member assault, a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to one year in Lake County Jail with all suspended but 147 days, and credited for 147 days already served. One count each of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal possession of dangerous drugs was dismissed per the plea agreement.
According to court documents, Collier was in a “paranoid delusional state of mind” on Jan. 6, and acted in an aggressive manner toward a family member, storming erratically around the residence and shouting, “I’m going to kill you.”
Michael James Brumitt, 47, had his suspended sentences revoked for violating conditions of probation and parole. Brumitt was sentenced to Montana State Prison for 11 years with six suspended, with recommendations for treatment.
According to court documents, in January 2004, Brumitt was sentenced to 15 years with 13 suspended for burglary, theft and bail jumping, all felonies. Then on June 16, 2010, his sentence was revoked and he was sentenced to DOC for 13 years with 11 suspended for burglary; 10 years all suspended for theft, and three years for bail jumping. In December 2015 Brumitt again violated conditions of parole, and on June 23 admitted to some and denied some allegations.
No one was sentenced in District Court Thursday, June 30.
