Editor,
As we approach a new school year, are you being intentional about the education of your child? Are you an involved parent who is committed to being engaged in your child’s classroom and connecting with their teachers? Schools see a wide variety of parental involvement and I believe the best education involves both parents and teachers.
Whether you have your child in a public or private school, it is vital that parents take an active role in their child’s education. Volunteering or helping staff in classroom prep are some ways you can gain a better understanding about the character, culture and vision of your school. If you are connected with the school, you gain a greater voice into your child’s education.
At the Mission Valley Christian Academy, our mission is to provide a Christ-centered quality education that develops lifelong servant leaders. Because we believe the parent is the primary teacher in a child’s life, we partner with parents to help each child be successful in school and in life. A biblically-based option might not be for everyone, but Mission Valley Christian Academy is a great choice for those parents who see Christian education as an investment in the future.
As we enter our 24th year of operation, I’d like to thank the parents and staff who have sacrificed over the years to make this school possible for the Mission Valley. I begin my fifth year as the administrator this year and am grateful for the opportunity to serve the parents, students and staff.
Please consider being intentional about your child’s education this year and invest in your school and teachers. Your teachers will thank you now and your child will thank you later.
