Editor,

I agree with and quote a recent writer who said, “I’m baffled at the willful ignorance displayed by … far too many of the American people.”

It reflects an example of one being their own worst enemy. His opinion he labels as “facts, undebatable facts.” And like many others of his ilk he attributes our problems to the President and Secretary of State, ignoring that our government is run by a consortium of positions wielding different degrees of power.

Congress and a judicial system help determine what we become. The incompetence or inaction of the each part creates the whole. In fact, in my opinion, most issues seemed to have improved in the last eight years.

Hillary is a lawyer and a politician, two professions I doubt are the most trusted professions in the world. “We the People” reelect some of them even when, unlike Hillary, they have been convicted in court. But it is Trump who scares me for us.

Trump says things I like but I also see so many holes in his aggressive, school yard behavior and name calling, his omission and distortion of pertinent information that I fear he will be the greater danger to our nation.

For example, his plan to rid us of illegal immigrants. On day one, authorize local law enforcement. Think about that. The amount of money needed to pay for the manpower at all levels of involvement in the process, the need for additional facilities to feed and hold these people, transportation to and from court as well as to return them far away from where they came (ignore the fact it involves crossing international borders) has to come from somewhere.

Picture how a law enforcement agency like ours would be impacted by the new “mandated” task. Heck, we don’t even have the ability to keep bad guys and repeat-incident drunk drivers in custody. Where does he, or do you, think the manpower and funds for this will come from? Oh, yeah, details, details — not his thing.

Reality is reality; the worst of two evils for our nation is to elect Trump.
