POLSON – Representatives from Energy Keepers, Inc., NorthWestern Energy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and the Bureau of Indian Affairs conferred on Aug. 23 regarding current and projected operation of the Seli’š Ksanka Qlispe (formerly Kerr) Project. The current outflow is about 4,840 cubic feet per second and the lake elevation, as of Aug. 31 at midnight, was 2,892.7 feet. In August, the natural streamflow averaged 70 percent of average (historical data from 1981-2010) and is forecasted to be 94 percent of normal in September. Precipitation accumulation was 24 percent of normal as measured by the National Weather Service at the SKQ Dam.
