ST. IGNATIUS – The Mission Charlo Bulldogs wrestling team hosted a dual meet with the Bigfork Vikings and the Florence Falcons on Friday night.

The young Bulldog lineup bested Bigfork 54 – 24 and slipped by Florence 49 – 39. “I was really pleased with the wins,” Bulldog’s coach Lyle Cronk said.

Bailey Wieble (120), Darwin Adams (132), Troy Mitchell (145) and Cole Gilleard (126) all had single match victories. Picking up two victories each on the evening were Isaac DuMontier (126), Chris Anderson (285) and Gus Bosley (182).

“We had a lot of kids really step up and get wins tonight,” Cronk said. “It helps the team out getting the dual victories. It gives us momentum going into Superior.”

The Bulldogs carried their momentum over into Superior and placed fifth as a team in the Bob Kinney Classic wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Isaac DuMontier (126) pinned teammate Cole Gilleard in their finals match and Gus Bosley (182) pinned his opponent to win his final. Both Bailey Wieble (120) and Darwin Adams (132) placed third and Troy Mitchell (145) placed fourth for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will be back on the mats this weekend at the Stevensville dual and the Christmas Classic.
