ST. IGNATIUS – Friday night, the Ronan Maidens grabbed an early 21-8 first quarter lead from the Lady Bulldogs and never looked back, beating their Class B and cross-county basketball rivals 61-24.

“Tonight, I felt like we played pretty well,” Maidens’ head coach Ron Hanson said.

A Maiden 16-2 second quarter run sent the Lady Bulldogs into the half down 37-10. The Lady Bulldogs did see some third quarter success and outscored a much younger Maiden squad, 10-4.

“One of our goals is to get some of our younger kids some playing time,” coach Hanson said.

Lee Camel led all scorers with 20 points and teammate Alicia Camel scored 15 points.

Afton Brander’s eight points led the Lady Bulldogs.

Saturday night, the Maidens continued their winning ways and beat the visiting Eureka Lions 71-58.

Maiden Alicia Camel was nine of 10 from the free-throw line and led all scorers with 26 points.

Ronan’s Lee Camel had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Micalann McCrea added 20 more points.
