It is with sincere appreciation and thanks that the Two Eagle River School Board and Administration acknowledges all community members who donated to the TERS basketball program this past Christmas season. Community members purchased gift basket raffle tickets, donated time, silent auction items, and donated cash. This support will help the TERS basketball program immensely. Without your generosity and donations, this could not happen.
The Two Eagle River School struggles year to year with changing budgets and a fluctuating school population, 100 percent of the youth who attend the school qualify for free and reduced lunches and many youth do not have adequate living situations. At the time of student transfer, many youth come to TERS several academic grade levels behind. Our challenge is to improve their educational opportunities while remaining accredited and maintaining adequate yearly progress. We have a dedicated loyal school staff that makes this possible. Staff at TERS supports each and every student on their educational journey.
The recent community involvement and donations have created a bright spot for students and staff at the school. In the near future, the school will seek a CSKT payroll deduction for contributions to the school. In addition, there are discussions about a TERS booster club. Our hope is these efforts will provide more opportunities for community involvement and student recognition. We hope the community will consider participating in our continued efforts to improve the resources available to the students.
