POLSON — The Polson High School Speech and Debate team placed sixth at State last weekend in Laurel.
Geneva des Lions finished fifth in Memorized Public Address, just as she did a week prior at divisionals, and seventh in Impromptu.
“We can’t wait to have Geneva back next year,” Coach Rob DiGiallonardo said.
Annabelle Smith and Katelyn Toland finished fourth in public forum,and Sophia Speckert finished fifth in Lincoln Douglass Debate.
“It was a great ... season, and both coaches are extremely proud of the yearlong effort,” DiGiallonardo said.
Recently the team placed third during the divisional tournament held in Columbia Falls. Asher Dalbey finished 12th in Lincoln Douglass Debate, Violet Anderson finished 11th in Informative Oratory, Nathan Depoe finished 11th in Humorous Interpretation, Taylor Bloomfield finished seventh in Open Oratory. All eight students competed at the state tournament this past weekend.
