Judge James A. Manley sentenced the following people Wednesday, March 29:

Mark Hobert Vrooman, 60, of Proctor, received a one-year deferred sentence for assault with a weapon. According to a court document, Vrooman had a disagreement with a woman about past relationships and religious beliefs after he returned from a bar on Aug. 1, 2016. Vrooman allegedly pointed a gun at the woman and fired six shots into the air before threatening to shoot himself in the head. The woman then ran into a house and called law enforcement. Vrooman was ordered to have no contact with the woman, submit to a chemical dependency evaluation and complete a counseling assessment. He was ordered to pay $180 in fines and fees.

Victor Roy Manuel, 39, of Ronan, was given a one-year suspended sentence in the Lake County Jail on an amended charge of negligent endangerment, a misdemeanor. He was originally charged with partner family member assault, a felony. According to a court document, Manuel has two prior convictions for partner family member assault from 2012. The charge stemmed from a Dec. 22, 2016 fight between Manuel and a 16-year-old male. The victim and his mother support the plea agreement, prosecuting attorney Brendan McQuillan said. The fight apparently ended when a man struck Manuel on the head with a frying pan resulting in stitches, according to a court document and Judge Manley. Manuel was given credit for five days in jail and ordered to complete counseling. Manley told Manuel that he is running out of second and third chances.

Marianne Christine Addison, 32, of Pablo, was given a six-month sentence in the Lake County Jail with all time suspended on an amended charge of criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. She was originally charged with burglary. According to a court document, Addison entered a residence in the 59800 block of Hillside Road in St. Ignatius on Oct. 4, 2015, without the permission of the owner. When the owner returned home, she found Addison and a man inside. The couple then fled with various items. Addison said she entered the residence to retrieve some of her belongings. She was ordered to pay $80 in fees.

Roy Lee Sinclair, 69, of Ronan, received a oneyear deferred prosecution agreement for two counts of assault with a weapon. The charges were dismissed without prejudice, which means the county attorney can refile them if Sinclair does not abide by conditions. On Oct. 30, 2016, Sinclair got into an argument with a man over a grinding stone. According to a court document, when the man failed to return the grinding stone to Sinclair, he fired a gun several times after pointing it at the man. According to a witness, the man would’ve been shot if he hadn’t ducked. A woman then got between the two men and Sinclair pointed a gun at her, a court document states. Sinclair was ordered to submit a mental health evaluation. Judge Deborah Kim Christopher did not sentence anyone on Thursday, March 30.
