ST. IGNATIUS — The game started better than it ended for the Lady Bulldogs in Deer Lodge on Dec. 15. Despite 12 points from Stephanie Lewandowksi and an early 14-6 lead in the first quarter, the Lady Wardens handcuffed the Lady Bulldogs 51-27 in Deer Lodge.
Deer Lodge’s Michele Christnacht scored a game-best 16 points. Six of those points came in the second period as the Lady Wardens cut their deficit to 21-19 at the half. Deer Lodge’s Shelby Applegate added 11 as the Wardens pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Also adding to the Lady Bulldog scoring was Loren Erickson with nine.
On Dec. 17, the Bulldogs faced an undefeated Charlo Lady Viking team and were outscored by more than double, 51-24. Deondra Brown and Rachel Hoyt led the charge and the scoring with 14 and 11 points respectively. Erickson and Katrina Stevens both scored eight.
The team wraps up play before Christmas break with Florence at home on Dec. 20.
