Marie Kenmille

POLSON — Marie Rose Houle Kenmille, age 71, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017, surrounded by her family. Marie was born July 12, 1945, to Benedict Barney Houle and Anna Rose Lafountain Houle. She was raised in Belcourt, North Dakota. She attended school at Turtle Mountain Community School, Fort Totten, Chambler, Wahpeton, and Flandreau, where she graduated from high school.

Marie married Lawrence Kenmille in Belcourt, North Dakota, at the St. Anna Catholic Church in 1963. Later that year they moved to Montana. They were blessed with their first born son, Allan Ray Kenmille in 1966. They moved to California where they had another child, Zaneta Ray Kenmille in 1968.

Marie was a dental assistant in Minnesota and Belcourt for about 12 years. She also worked as a CNA in Dunseith and Grafton, North Dakota.

Marie enjoyed the casinos and playing bingo. She made several baby blankets for newborns, family, and friends. She served as a Catechism teacher at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Belcourt for about 20 years. She helped many wayward children to know and learn their Catholic Faith. She also was a fundraiser for the Kateri Tekakwitha Conference in Bozeman.

Marie was preceded in death by her daughter Zaneta, her parents, five brothers, and two sisters. Marie is survived by her son, Allen Ray Kenmille of Pablo; a granddaughter, Kayla Keplin Ridgley; a great-granddaughter, Jessarae Ridgley; two brothers, Larry A. Houle and Dennis B. Houle of Belcourt, North Dakota; three sisters, Barbara E. Houle, Lynette Turcotte both of Belcourt, North Dakota, and Debbie Mc- Canna of Devils Lake, North Dakota.
