The Charlo Lady Vikings improved to 4-0 on the season last week, as they downed St. Regis on the road 58-19 and beat the Polson junior varsity 56-11 at home on Friday.
Against St. Regis, Charlo jumped out to a 27-6 halftime after holding St. Regis scoreless in the second quarter. During the second half it was more of the same as Charlo added another 31 points to St. Regis’ 13.
Rachel Hoyt led St. Regis with 17 points, while teammate Deondra Brown contributed 11. Dawn Blevins also played well, adding eight points.
For St. Regis, Arianna Jones led her team with seven points.
Charlo took its home court for the first time this season on Friday, where the Lady Vikings were too much to handle for the young Polson team.
Charlo took charge right off the bat, jumping out to a 21-0 lead after the first eight minutes of play. The Polson JV team began to play better in the second quarter, holding Charlo to 12 points, while Polson put up six. By that time, however, Charlo was in full command, leading 33-6.
Charlo continued to roll in the second half, holding Polson to only five points, while the Lady Vikings scored an additional 23, winning 56-11.
Hoyt led Charlo with 15 points, while Kinley Pope added 14. Blevins topped out the trio of double-digit scorers, scoring 12 points.
For Polson JV, Karly Rochin led her team with five points, while Melia Hamel added three.
Charlo also played Noxon on Dec. 20 and will resume its season on Jan. 6 against Superior.
