News from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes PABLO — Six-week summer internships are available for CSKT Tribal members, ages 16-25, who are interested in working for a local business and learning about business management. A $2,000 stipend will be awarded to those who qualify.
Applications are due June 20. Internships will begin July 10 and end Aug. 18.
The CSKT Youth Business Internship Program is being sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) Economic Development Office, and funded by local businesses and the Montana State Tribal Economic Development Commission (MT STEDC). Local businesses will pay $500 toward each stipend, and a grant from the MT STEDC will cover the remaining $1,500.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for Reservation youth and local businesses,” said Janet Camel, Planning Director for the CSKT Economic Development Office. “Tribal youth will get a chance to see firsthand how a small business operates, and gain valuable work experience.”
