ARLEE — Donna Dee (Wilson) Clinkenbeard Townsend, 74, of Arlee, passed away on July 4th of 2017 after a long battle with lung cancer. Donna was born on Aug. 30, 1942, in Livingston, Montana, to Goldie Mae Esterbrook and Charles D. Wilson.
In her early years, Donna lived in Lovelock, Nevada, Idaho, Granite Falls and Marysville, Washington, but Montana, and more so, Arlee became home for the rest of her life.
In November of 1960 James L. Clinkenbeard and Donna were blessed with their first daughter and then two more followed in 1963 and 1964. They all lived with their father until he passed away in 1980 at the age of 40. She worked hard raising her three girls working at Kmart full time. In 1981 she met her second husband Myron L. Townsend, he passed away in 2007. She was a devoted animal lover and she raised and bred pugs. Her life was full of hobbies including sewing, gardening, cooking and dancing. She also enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and camping with her family.
Donna had many names; she was a sister to Goldie, Shirley, Mary, Micheal, Tina, David, John, Janet, Judy, Steven, Cheryl, and Glen; mother to Charlett, Ellen and Katherine; grandmother to Eric, Jessie, Christina, Dawn, Charlene, Kamijo, Jeff, Jennifer, Javona and Jolene; and great -grandmother to Foster, Cheyenne, Jessica, Jayden, Aiden, Jasmine, Devin, Cade, Blake, Dustin, Harley S., Justin, Brayden, Elizabeth, Harley B., Micheal, James, Abby, Sylvia, Mason and Colston.
Donna’s kind, giving and beautiful soul has touched so many hearts. Her loss will be felt near and far by many.
Thank you to the Hospice of Missoula, her doctors at St. Patrick’s Hospital, The Lake Funeral Home and all her friends and family. The love and support from them is greatly appreciated. Memorial donations are welcome and appreciated.
Memorial services for Donna will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Arlee Community Center. There will be memorial services and burial in Marysville, Washington, at a later date. Memories and condolences may be sent to the family at: www.thelakefuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
