Charlo man gets 3 years, faces more charges

POLSON – A Charlo man was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections last week for criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
Daniel Olin Rosa, 32, was sentenced by Judge James A. Manley as part of a plea agreement. Rosa originally faced a possession with intent to distribute charge and a persistent felony offender status after police found 17 grams of methamphetamine in a residence.
He also faces charges of criminal endangerment and aggravated assault after he allegedly crashed a car into a garage when two children were in the home and punched a woman in the face. A Dec. 4 trial is scheduled in that case.
In court last week, Rosa was given credit for 25 days in jail as part of a plea agreement.
He was originally charged following a July 29, 2016 incident in which police found 17 grams of methamphetamine packaged for sale along with multiple pipes and scales, a spoon with residue on it, large capacity magazines for an “assault-style” rifle and a bulletproof vest.
