Editor,
I am a retired natural resource manager, having managed both rangeland and timberland during my career. The Society for Range Management presented me with their most prestigious award for land stewardship.
With this being said, I want to voice my support for the Swan Forest Initiative. Local, hands on control of the land will be best for all of us. We will all benefit by well managed timber production, with the profits staying in the local community to further enhance needed soil and water conservation projects. Public access will be retained for various recreation pursuits. This is a win-win for all of us.
