PABLO — The Eagles soared to a dominating 63-21 win over the St. Regis Tigers on Jan. 6. The Eagles were in command from the beginning and ended the half ahead an impressive 40-4. Artie Mendoza scored eight of his 12 points in the first quarter. Also in double figures were Marcus Brown with 12 and Skyler Rossbach with 11.
The next day, the Eagles faced a harder challenge against the Superior Bobcats. The combination of even scoring and tough defense helped the Bobcats edge the Eagles late in the game. Clint Voll led Superior with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Teammate Zach Benda added 12, and Adam Kay tossed in 11.
Rossbach had a team-high 18 points, followed by Brown with 14 and Mendoza adding 10.
The Eagles are now 3-2 in conference play and 6-2 overall. Two Eagle River travels to Arlee on Thursday and faces Valley Christian at home on Saturday.
