Barbara Monaco of Polson was elected as Governor of the Montana District of Kiwanis International for the one year 2017-18 term starting Oct. 1. Barbara is one of 48 international governors in the world of this organization founded in 1915 with nearly 600,000 members of all ages and a presence in more than 80 nations and geographic areas. Kiwanis clubs focus on changing the world by serving children, one child and one community at a time.
As a 14-year Kiwanian and member of the Kiwanis Club of Polson, Monaco has served in various positions including lieutenant governor for three terms of the Montana District northwest region. She is the chief juvenile probation officer of the Twentieth Judicial District in Lake and Sanders County.
