Editor,
Who conceptualized the group “Pink Floyd?” I learned it was Roger Waters. Why do I care about this? Fair question. Here’s why.
I was surfing the channels the other day and was captivated by an interview with Roger Waters. It was about how U.S. “powers that be” have effectively disallowed the showing of a film being showed all over the rest of the world. It’s title: “Occupation of the American Mind.” This film is telling a story about a subject which has caused American opinion to generally be outside world opinion.
The film tells the historical and factual events leading to the ongoing battles between Israel and Palestine. In Roger Waters’ efforts and work in helping bring “Occupation of the American Mind” to the screen, he is clear to point out that he is not siding with either country but is simply pointing out the truth.
Do we deserve the truth? Are we being “played?” Just recently at the UN, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Under President Trump the alliance between the U.S. and Israel has never been stronger, never been deeper.”
Anyway, I simply ask questions and point all this out as an example of the need for transparency and truth from our executive, legislative, and judicial branches of our so-called Democratic form of government.
And to me, our Democracy means that the real power resides with We The People as we interact, speak out, and act responsibly. Check out “Occupation of the American Mind.”
