Judge James A. Manley sentenced the following people on Oct. 25:
Kevin Cecil Johnston, Jr., 26, of Glendive (formerly of Missoula) got a three-year deferred sentence for drug possession (meth) in a hearing completed by Vision Net. He was given credit for 17 days in the Dawson County Jail and was released on his own recognizance. Manley noted it was his first felony.
William Colman, 26, of Charlo, was given a two-year sentence to the Department of Corrections when his probation was revoked from an aggravated assault conviction. He was given credit for 30 days in jail. Colman was originally sentenced in May 2013 to five years in DOC with two years suspended after he put his hands on a woman’s neck. He admitted in court last week that he violated probation by failing to get a job, failed to report to his probation officer, tested positive for meth and possessed drug paraphernalia. Manley recommended he be screened for the Nexus drug treatment program.
Jessica Marie Anderson, 36, of Polson, was given a three-year deferred sentence to the Department of Corrections except for nine months in a drug treatment program. Anderson’s original two-year deferred sentence was revoked because she violated her probation. She admitted in court last week that she did not report to her probation officer, drank alcohol and associated with other probationers. Manley said she absconded in December 2016, which defense attorney Lael Gabrian said happened after Anderson’s mother died. Anderson was given credit for 51 days in jail. Manley said she will avoid having a felony on her record if she completes a nine-month drug treatment program.
Brendan Jacob Adams, 32, of St. Ignatius, was given a three-year suspended sentence to DOC for criminal endangerment, which was amended from an original charge of aggravated assault. On Oct. 9, 2015, Adams went to a residence in the 37100 block of Dublin Gulch Road and asked a man for gasoline. The man complied, but when he declined to give Adams money, Adams punched him in the face and broke his jaw, a court document states. The victim required stitches for his facial injury. Adams was given credit for 133 days in jail and ordered to complete an anger management class. Aggravated assault and bail jumping charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. In the former case, Adams had allegedly threatened to shoot a woman and her father and brothers with a 9mm pistol, according to a court document.
Robin Earlaine Lamar, 57, of Polson, was given a five-year suspended sentence to DOC for drug possession with intent to distribute. The sentence will run concurrently with a threeyear suspended sentence that she received in July 2016 for drug possession. According to a court document, Lamar was charged after Polson Police executed a search warrant on a home that she was sharing with another woman. The police had received information that the women had been receiving large amounts of meth and pills by mail from Red Bluff, California. When police searched the home in the 100 block of Third Avenue Northwest, they found 7 grams of meth and 79 ½ acetaminophen and hydrocodone pills along with scales, zip-lock baggies and pipes, a court document states.
Judge Kim Christopher sentenced the following person on Oct. 26:
John Richard Bourdon, 49, of Arkansas, was given one year in jail with all time suspended except for 10 days for DUI. Bourdon was given credit for one day served following a July 2 incident on White Swan Road northwest of King’s Point. According to a court document, a vehicle that Bourdon was driving left the road, became high-centered and caught fire. Bourdon was able to get his granddaughter out of the vehicle, a court document states. Bourdon was originally charged with criminal child endangerment and DUI, second offense. He completed an alcohol treatment program prior to last week’s court date, defense attorney Paul T. Ryan said. Bourdon said that he had four drinks the day of the incident, a court document states.
