Carol Croft

ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI — Carol Bennett Cook Croft, was born on March 1, 1934, and passed away on Nov. 25, 2017, after enduring ongoing heart and stroke difficulties. She was hospitalized in St. Charles, Missouri, and died from a severe stroke. Three months earlier she moved from Ronan to live in St. Charles with her son, Mike and his family. Though short lived, she expressed happiness and contentment about being part of the Cook family in her senior years.

Carol was always an energetic individual who loved traveling, reading, researching family trees, LDS church activities, assisting in senior citizen organizations, and interacting with family and friends and she loved the beauty of the Flathead Valley and the Mission Mountains.

After graduating from Ronan High School in 1952, she married Robert Cook and moved to Ventura, California, where Robert served in the military. The Cooks had three children before divorcing, Robert, Vicki, and Michael, and six grandchildren. Carol later married Jim Croft.

Carol’s mother and father, Thelma and Steve Bennett, rest in peace at the Ronan Cemetery, as does her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Norma and (Chief) Eugene Piedalue and younger brother, Steve Bennett.

She is survived by two younger brothers, Jerry of Salem, Oregon, and Scott Bennett of Goodyear, Arizona, as well as her sister’s children and grandchildren, Pat and Bob Bristol, Len and Gail Piedalue, and Jim’s children. Pat was a close support system to Carol during the years leading up to the Missouri move and was greatly appreciated by Carol and other family members for assisting Carol during her difficult health problems.

One of the happiest of times in Carol’s life was when she and her husband, Jim Croft, purchased a motor home and traveled from their home in Dixon, to many state parks where they enjoyed visiting and sightseeing treks. She also loved family gatherings and the holidays, where she was a constant in mailing out birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cards. She maintained close connections with her mother’s Canadian (Alberta) side of the family, the Gallups.

May she rest in peace hereafter.
