Judy Hammond

COLORADO — Judy Lynn Hammond passed away on Dec. 26, 2017, in Colorado. Judy was born Eugina Cassell in San Francisco, California, on July 27, 1954.

She is survived by her brother, Rick (Carole) Hammond of Valley Center, California; her sister, Kathleen (Mark) Heid of San Marcos, California; her niece, Whitney Heid of San Marcos, California; her nephews, Wesley (Leslie) Heid of Santa Ana, California, and Tom Hammond of San Diego, California; and numerous cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred (Dick) Richard Hammond and Alberta Jane Cassell; her grandparents, Walter Forrest Cassell, Rose Mae Creech, Fred Price (Allen Hagel) Hammond and Bertha Katherine Margaret Stolte Hammond Swall.

Judy discovered her love of traveling while her father was an operating engineer. They moved wherever the job was located, living in north and south California, north and south Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Montana and Colorado.

From an early age she loved to garden along with raising ducks and chickens, camping, fishing and boating on Lake Mead, Nevada, and Lake Pleasant, in Arizona. She also enjoyed visiting Yosemite, Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, taking off on a dirt road just to see where it led and taking walks along the beach.

While living in Carson City, Nevada, Judy enjoyed being on stage in Carson Capers ‘88, a member of the Sherwood Forest Players and in the Christmas Carol. Since moving to Montana, Judy loved container gardening and river rafting down the Flathead River. She also started back up researching her family history (off and on for 50 plus years). Since the age of nine, Judy has had a close connection with God, that has helped her throughout the years.

My love to all.
