POLSON — A Lake County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer responded to a threat issued by a Polson Middle School student last week.

Sheriff Don Bell said a student made a verbal threat to some students about a hit list on Thursday, Jan. 18.

Bell said the boy made comments to the effect of “if I had a (hit) list, you’d be No. 1, you’d be No. 8” etc.

Bell said that the threat was not acted on and there was no immediate danger to students. He also said no ammunition or weapons were found.

PMS Vice Principal Jesse Yarbrough and Polson Schools Superintendent Rex Weltz did not return phone calls about the incident.
