Joseph Skabronski Sr.

SEARCY, ARKANSAS — Joseph Andrew Skabronski Sr., 81, of Searcy, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018. He was born Feb. 5, 1936, in Galata, Montana, to the late William and Agnes (Bubnash) Skabronski. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, William. He was retired after a long career with Safeway.

Joe was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother to his siblings. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, an avid sports fan, who loved March Madness and the Super Bowl, a state champion bowler, and labeled by many as a mechanical genius. But most importantly he was as kind a soul as you could ever meet and greeted everyone with a big smile, and he had not an enemy in the world.

He leaves behind four children: Jodie Skabronski of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cherie West, Chad Skabronski, and Joe Skabronski, all of Searcy, Arkansas; eight grandchildren: Brandon West of Las Vegas, Nevada; Corey West and Haley West of Searcy, Arkansas; Kristy Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Amber and Ashley Skabronski of Searcy; Jordan and Noah Skabronski of Searcy, Arkansas; siblings, Lorraine Peck of Seattle, Washington, Mardell and Dick Lockwood of Missoula, Willie and Ray Johnson of White Sulphur Springs, Carl and Annette Skabronski of Twin Falls, Idaho, Marge and Jack Fay of Ronan and Elizabeth Ellis of Polson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the Little Rock National Cemetery.
