Laurence Molzhon
THOMPSON FALLS - Laurence Duncan Molzhon left this World to be with the Lord on the morning of Jan. 25, 2018. On Nov. 9, 1932, he was born near Vida, Montana, at the family homestead. He spent his younger years in eastern Montana and then his family moved to western Montana, to the Ronan–Pablo area for health reasons.
He only went to school to the beginning of the ninth grade, then decided to get his education, as he put it, working for many ranchers, farmers and loggers.
In 1962 Laurence and his wife Lillian moved their family to Trout Creek where they lived for about seven years. They then moved to the current family home on Blue Slide Road in Thompson Falls. He lived there until the present.
After Laurence moved to the Blue Slide area, he and Lillian farmed and ranched and made a beautiful home for their family. Lillian passed away June 7, 2005.
Laurence is survived by his children, Laurence “Pete” (Kelli) Molzhon of Spokane, Washington, Laura “Sis” Lumley of Paradise, Samie (Vern) Helvey of Thompson Falls, and Brian (Maria) Molzhon of Thompson Falls; stepchildren, Lynn (Brenda) Wold of Hamilton, Cynthia (Larry) Parker of Big Arm, David (Cheryl) Dorman of Columbia Falls, and his longtime companion, Nancy Sagan, and her children. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 51 great- grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; his brothers, George (Toni) of Ronan, Mike (Donna) of Ronan; sisters, Anella of Great Falls, Pat (Sonny) of Lewistown, and Letha (Jim) Morgan of Pablo.
