George Oechsli
EDEN, TEXAS — George William Oechsli of Eden, Texas, ended his life journey on March 9, 2018. He was 56 years old. Our nature is to question why. Total and absolute despair took my son. The “why” will never be answered.
He was a proud and loving father of two beautiful children, Megan Mae, an optician in Midland, Texas, and George William, who is serving in the US Army, soon to be deployed.
George had a very successful career in law enforcement. He served proudly in the US Border Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security.
George was kind, gentle, and compassionate. He had a multitude of friends from every walk of life. He had an easy manner, sincere interest in others, and an infectious laugh. Golf was his passion. He took off with an eagle on the last hole. Remember him this way.
An obituary can only skim the surface of a life well lived. The sunset of his life leaves a void never to be filled or understood by his mother, brother, children and friends.
George is preceded in death by his father and all four grandparents, George and Marsha Oechsli and Joe and Mae Lyden.
He is survived by his mother, Alice; his brother, Joseph (Leah) Oechsli; his children, Megan Mae Oechsli and George William (Josie) Oechsli; and his nephew, William Joseph Oechsli. His loved ones and many friends will miss him greatly.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Eden Funeral home, Eden, Texas. A memorial service has taken place in Texas and a memorial service will take place in Polson this summer and details will be announced at a later date.
His family asks that remembrances be sent in George’s name to the Mission Valley Animal Shelter, 36251 N. Reservoir Road, Polson, Montana, 59860, or to the Environmental Defense Fund, 1875 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20009.
