Dear Editor,
Don Bell runs a very clean campaign for Lake County Sheriff by not debating with or degrading his opponent. I think he is counting on the people here to have the common sense to recognize that our county has unique needs. Don worked many years as a tribal police officer. He is a Tribal member. He knows the intricacies of jurisdiction and laws between the governing agencies here. He has a lifetime of experience that can never be garnered or understood by an outsider. Don Bell cleaned out the corruption in the sheriff’s department and has raised the bar of integrity on new hires. He has hired more female deputies and female detention officers than any other administration. He wants the Sheriff’s Department to be used for the people, not against them, to be approachable and community friendly. He is constantly working for the safety and security of all of us, his neighbors and friends and his own large family that he loves dearly. (All despite the many budget shortfalls he has had to work with.) Don is very pro second amendment and has issued more concealed weapon permits than any previous administration. This county needs another four years of Don Bell’s leadership. My common sense tells me to vote for Don Bell on June 5.
