POLSON – Downtown Polson celebrated all things cherry during the Flathead Cherry Festival on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival included kid’s rides, food, games, music, craft vendors, cherry sampling and of course, a lot cherries and cherry pie.
One of the weekend highlights were the cherry pit spitting and cherry pie eating contests.
It was a Maxwell family sweep of events as father Tyler won both the adult’s pit spitting and pie eating contests, while son Maddox won the pit sitting contest and daughter Campbell won the pie eating contest in the children’s division.
Other area events coinciding with the Cherry Festival were a fun run, a kid’s street hockey tournament and a Live History Days at the Miracle of America Museum.
