Editor,

It’s interesting to read the letters to the editor here in Lake County. The mantra from Professor McClellan et al is that we need someone as county commissioner who can bring cooperation back to the county. That would imply there is currently a ‘lack’ of cooperation. My trusty Websters says cooperation is to ‘act together for a common purpose or benefit’.

Lets start by asking the question who exactly isn’t acting in the best interest of all the people of Lake County? When CSKT was given the Kerr Dam, it was beyond everyone’s comprehension why that was in the best interest of all. They indicated it would be business as usual.

Shortly after the ink was dry on the agreement the new owners made it known they would not be paying taxes to the county as the previous owners had been doing since it was built. That one fact, and there are many others, would seem to me to be a red flag for Lake County. Ask yourself exactly who it is that isn’t cooperating?

The residents of Lake County need to wake up and keep Gale Decker in office, or they can look to their future to the north in Browning. You see who ‘cooperation’ has been working for there.
