RONAN – Employees of St. Luke Community Healthcare came together to collect and donate $564 and 4,200 pounds of non-perishable food to the food banks in Ronan, St. Ignatius and Polson with the most essential items going into the holiday season.

The donation marks the culmination of a five-week long competition between departments and clinics at St. Luke and set a donation record for the organization. For the last three years, St. Luke has been holding internal competitions for donations.

The top four departments to bring the most items were treated to a pizza party. In addition to the food drive, each department creates a donation box for the food. The most creative box was also treated to a pizza party. St. Luke knows that food drives are important to our local food banks’ ability to provide food to the thousands of individuals they serve. Encouraging staff to donate during the holidays makes a difference in the lives of those in need in our communities.

“Social determinants have a big impact on the health of our community, and the need to feed the hungry is on-going. St. Luke is proud to support the food banks that serve our communities. The Ronan Bread Basket, Polson Loaves and Fish Pantry, Mission Valley Food Pantry and Heart of the Helper Ministry provide an invaluable service to the community, and we are privileged to help those in need while leading an effort that brings out the best in so many of our employees,” said Steve Todd, CEO of St. Luke Community Healthcare. “I am so proud of the service and support our 450 team members give to our communities.”
