A 16-year-old Lake County girl will spend the next five years at the Five County Treatment and Youth Rehabilitation Center in St. Anthony, Idaho, for negligent homicide.
Whisper Jimenez admitted to the charge in youth court on June 5, 2019, stemming from a Nov. 25, 2018, car wreck that killed her passenger, Aliyah McRae, 14, of Ronan.
A disposition hearing for Jimenez was held before Judge James Manley on June 19, and a revocation hearing on theft and burglary charges was held before Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher on June 20.
Jimenez was committed to a total of eight years with the Department of Corrections with three years and 328 days suspended. Lake County Deputy Attorney Ben Anciaux says Jimenez was also ordered to pay restitution of $12,625. The funds will be used to pay for a headstone and funeral services for McRae.
Restitution was not ordered on the theft and burglary charges because the stolen items were recovered. Jimenez was designated a “delinquent youth” and “serious juvenile offender” with offenses starting on her record in 2016.
